PRAKRITI: Reproductive health management
Statistics reveal that in India, about 1 in 5 – a significant number of girls drop out of school due to the lack of menstrual awareness and proper hygiene facilities. This not only affects their education but also their long-term health and well-being. Muniya Foundation, drawing upon the wisdom of ages that proclaims ‘Knowledge is Power,’ strives to enlighten young Muniyas about the importance of menstrual hygiene, ensuring that the natural cycle of life does not hinder their path to education and success.
Our program is not just an initiative; it's a commitment to holistic well-being and positive social transformation. We believe that by focusing on the health and well-being of these young women, we are investing in the future of our communities. By addressing menstrual hygiene issues, we aim to enhance enrolment, retention, transition, and performance of girls at the primary, secondary, and college levels of education. Through our concerted efforts, we aim to raise awareness about reproductive health management, shattering taboos and equipping girls with the knowledge they need to manage their menstrual health and stride with confidence.
To achieve this, we work closely with a team of doctors and counsellors to provide comprehensive education and one-to-one counselling on menstrual health and hygiene to these young women. By distributing sanitary pads and multivitamin tablets, and installing pad vending machines and incinerators for proper disposal of pads, we are taking concrete steps towards empowering girls to lead healthy and focused lives with dignity and self-care. Our programme is more than just a distribution channel for sanitary pads and multivitamins. With every pad we provide, we are rewriting a story – one where every girl has the right to education, the freedom to thrive, and the power to chase her dreams, unfettered by the natural cycles that define womanhood.
This is our commitment: to sow seeds of awareness, to nurture well-being, and to witness these young women blossom into leaders of tomorrow, leading healthy and happy lives.
